About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter with full life-cycle experience at tech companies focusing on hiring engineering talent. This role is perfect for someone who loves hiring top technical talent and is looking for opportunities to mentor others. This person will recruit top technical talent who truly believes in our mission to champion homeownership as we scale over the years.
We are looking to continue to grow our Engineering team and set a scalable foundation for 2023. You will play a critical role in this growth while driving the engineering hiring strategy from source to close. You will spearhead and educate recruiting best practices across the company. Aside from the day-to-day, this is a career development opportunity for you as a Senior Recruiter leading the hiring engine for Engineering. We'll support you in the direction you want to take with your career and provide training opportunities. It's one of the many great perks of joining an early-stage startup! We’re open to NYC or Bay Area-based recruiters as well as fully remote (but must be open to some travel).
Day to day at Valon:
- You are a thought partner; work closely with leaders across the tech organization to understand their hiring needs, develop strategies to achieve hiring targets, and coach hiring managers through the entire recruiting process
- You are the domain expert; have a thorough understanding of how to best hire technical talent, especially Software Engineers at any level
- You influence without authority; manage pipeline activity and proactively share data-centric updates and recommendations with internal stakeholders
- You advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion; build representative candidate pipelines and help hiring managers build inclusive teams
- You drive change for the better; your ideas are driven by first principle thinking, creativity, and enthusiasm
- You lead by example; guide and mentor other Technical Recruiters, Recruiting Coordinators, and future Sourcers as the talent team expands
- You are a team player; adaptable and collaborative — in an intentionally fast-paced and constantly changing environment, you flex from experience and know when to take the lead and when to ask for support
What you have done:
- 3+ years of relevant in-house recruiting experience for software engineering
- Experience working with and building full-cycle recruiting strategies with hiring managers
- Experience driving candidate closing strategies
- Experience with building relationships, influencing decisions, and connecting with internal stakeholders and external candidates
- Experience with scoping, project managing, launching and maintaining recruiting programs and processes
- Excellent attention to detail, clear communication, high level of organizational and program management skills
