Sr. Manager, Payroll

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Payroll to join Team Snapchat! As a member of the Payroll team, you will help manage the team that pays our employees. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters or New York City office, you’ll collaborate closely with HR, HRIS, Stock Admin and Tax.
What you’ll do:
Set a vision for and lead our payroll people, projects, and global initiatives; providing support, guidance and leadership
Build strong cross functional business partner relationships
Artfully balance competing priorities while expectation setting with the business deliverable timeframes
Collaborate on payroll-related projects and initiatives; implement ongoing process improvements and better business practices to deliver quality customer service
Ensure global payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner while accounting for the funding of all payroll deductions to third parties and tax authorities
Ensure appropriate payroll controls and backup systems are in place
Oversee payroll related to stock based compensation
Assist in the design of KPIs and other performance measurements
Monitor vendor performance as it relates to compliance, contractual agreements, and service quality
Work closely with our technology teams to contribute feedback and perform testing on miscellaneous system-related projects and enhancements, including Workday
Partner with HR and vendors to ensure proper payroll and benefit accounting, compliance, and management of end-to-end payroll processes
Establish efficient payroll processes that are best in class
Partner with international expansion teams to establish new payroll locations
Review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as required
Ensure compliance with required wage and hour laws
Help manage and drive various payroll audits
Participate/lead cross-functional projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma concepts to improve processes
Enhance payroll processes for mobile employees and expats
Assist in implementing payrolls in new countries
Ensure SOX compliance with regard to Payroll controls
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Working knowledge of general payroll tax requirements and understanding of how payroll transactions impact the general ledger
Experience with qualified benefit plans, 401(k) plans, and stock plan administration
Experience processing & coordinating international payrolls
Excel proficiency
HRIS system experience preferred with Workday system knowledge a plus
Strong executive presence with the ability to interface with senior leadership
Previous experience processing payroll related to RSUs
Be able and open to traveling occasionally as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or a related area, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of payroll experience
5+ years of payroll management experience
Prior payroll experience with knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws
Experience in payroll management for a large multinational, multi-state employee
Preferred Qualifications:
Active APA membership and CPP designation
Excel subject matter expert
