Senior Manager, Talent Development

Our team is building a disruptive software platform dedicated to oncology that connects cancer centers across the country on a common infrastructure. Our platform aggregates and transforms real-world data at a scale and clinical depth never seen before. In creating this platform, we are building the largest, most comprehensive system of oncology data intelligence in the US.
To achieve our mission, we hire A+ talent and invest in their long-term career growth at Flatiron. We are looking for a talent development specialist who can design and implement a scalable talent management strategy. This person will help define our talent management framework and processes to ensure we are investing in our leaders and developing bench strength to meet our business goals as we grow. As part of the talent management strategy, this specialist will own our career growth programs, with a focus on clarifying career paths across the organization and providing robust development opportunities to cultivate our talent.
Additionally, this person will help to define what it means to be a leader at Flatiron, and build a best-in-class training curriculum for senior managers. As a member of the broader Learning & Development team, this person will also have the opportunity to collaborate on and lead initiatives related to organizational culture, employee engagement, and team effectiveness
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and facilitate the talent review and succession planning processes, in partnership with HRBPs and business leaders.
- Synthesize and present talent management data to People team members and business leaders to help inform our broader People team strategy.
- Benchmark Flatiron’s career development offerings and create a career development philosophy and strategy that will help motivate, inspire, and retain employees.
- Implement career development programs and resources to invest in top talent and provide opportunities to upskill future leaders.
- Champion employee development by working with business leaders on enhancing career development ladders and competency models to ensure that employees have a clear path for growth at Flatiron.
- Collaborate with Talent Development team on evolving the performance review process to ensure that it aligns with the talent planning philosophy.
- Build out a leadership development program for experienced managers.
- Conduct annual manager upward feedback process, analyze data, link results to training impact, and leverage this information to drive changes to the management curriculum.
- Support other special projects across the Talent Development and People Ops team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- BA/BS degree required; master’s degree in relevant field preferred
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience in HR
- Deep subject matter expertise in the areas of talent management and leadership development
- Strong facilitation skills and demonstrated ability to lead both in person and remote/blended trainings
- Significant experience with diagnosing training needs, designing training programs, and partnering with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to customize content
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Can build rapport quickly with employees, and knows how to present information in a compelling manner.
- Superior organizational skills, project management abilities, and attention to detail are a must. Thrives on getting things done both quickly and accurately.
- Must be a highly collaborative team player with a “can do attitude”, and the ability to forge great relationships both within and outside the People Ops team
- Proven data analysis skills and the ability to synthesize key findings from large amounts of information
- Enjoys a “roll up your sleeves” environment and is comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast-paced and challenging workplace
