The Workplace Experience Manager will be responsible for all the big picture planning and daily operations that go into creating and maintaining an elevated office experience that fosters productivity, creativity and collaboration. The ideal candidate is excited to lead across the areas of office management to ensure our office is running like a well-oiled machine while also creating opportunities for our employees to step away from their desks to connect and enjoy each other’s company. You’ll both manage relationships with external vendors and organize internal committees all with a keen eye for creating and managing detailed projects and multiple moving pieces.

The role reports to Away’s Head of People and is located at our headquarters in NoHo, New York City.

REQUIREMENTS

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the front of office experience including overseeing desk coverage schedule, check-in systems, security, building communications, and office ops support request system.
  • Oversee associated vendors, and budget to create efficient processes, ensure high vendor standards, and proactively anticipate and solve for facilities challenges.
  • Take charge of our vision and execution of our daily office life including weekly Friday lunch catering, our delicious pantry program, office supplies, mail, courier, and cleaning vendor management
  • Plan and facilitate how we welcome and orient our new team members on their first day and for their first week
  • Create opportunities to surprise & delight our team just as we do our customers
  • Own the systems elements of employee onboarding experience to ensure that all new employees are successfully immersed from an office & facilities, IT systems perspective by ensuring new hires are set up from before their first day..
  • Manage seating plans and curate branded office environment that is efficient, effective, and inspiring.
  • Partner with teams to ensure departmental storage, seating, and other space needs are anticipated and met.
  • Play key role in planning office moves in ways that are smooth and seamless for the team.
  • Organize and facilitate committees to plan and keep our community events fresh; this includes playing a key role in planning our team wide anniversary, holiday party and annual team trip!
  • Manage office & community operations team member(s)

Who you are:

  • You have approximately 4+ years experience in office management and/or project management with a record of results
  • You're a seasoned "cat herder" who can move people to action
  • You love working in fast-paced environments and creative problem solving
  • You’re a process nerd who has fun finding the big & small ways to improve efficiency and systems
  • You find no task too big nor too small and are happy to do whatever it takes to bring a vision to life
  • You are an excellent communicator in both interpersonal interactions and in written communications
  • Eager to learn the ins and outs of growing venture backed startup
  • Love to travel (but that's a given)
