Job Description

Do you want to use your skills to make the world's best cancer center even better? We are looking for an intern to join the Prime Analytics team; we collaborate with data specialists across MSK who support our doctors, nurses, researchers, and other staff as they work to treat and cure cancer. If you have deep technical skills coupled with a passion for making them useful in solving real and pressing problems, then this could be an ideal role for you!

What sets this opportunity apart...

Prime Analytics is a new initiative (with strong executive sponsorship from our Chief Operating Officer) to unify the large data community at MSK. We are standardizing career paths and professional development, technical infrastructure, and analytical tools across the hospital. In this role, you will partner with departments across the organization and distill their expertise into a widely-used analytics codebase for the institution, acting as a force-multiplier in our work to conquer cancer.

You will:

• Continually improve existing in-house packages by adding new features, resolving bugs, reviewing Pull Requests, and making new releases.
• Leverage industry best practices to build fully automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Increase code coverage and raise the documentation standards of our Analytics codebase.
• Keep a pulse on the underlying open-source packages.

You have:

• Experience in Python/R, including experience delivering code that others rely on to do their work.
• Dedication to high development standards, including unit tests and documentation.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git/GitHub.
• Prior experience creating and maintaining Python/R libraries is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD best practices, and experience with GitHub Actions is a strong plus.
• Experience with SQL is a plus.
