Brand Marketing & Partnerships Intern, Fall 2018

Birchbox is looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and passionate Marketing Intern to work with the Senior Manager of Brand Marketing & Partnerships on campaign and partnership development and management. We’re seeking someone that has a demonstrated experience in left brain (analytical) and right brain (creative) roles and skill sets, has their pulse on current trends and happenings in advertising and partnerships, is interested in customer-centricity, and is passionate about the Birchbox mission, vision, and product.

Your Day

  • Work with the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing & Partnerships, on key brand marketing initiatives and campaigns. Responsibilities include:
    • Assist in developing marketing plans and creative approach, ensuring efforts are “on brand” and consistent throughout all channels
    • Support project management and execution needs, coordinating with the marketing operations and creative teams on making sure tasks are being completed in a timely manner
    • Act as brand marketing project champion across the business and assist in key cross-functional communication and meetings
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing & Partnerships, on strategic partnership ideation, development, and execution. Responsibilities include:
    • Join and, in some cases, take calls with potential partners
    • Observe and participate in pitching, negotiating, and discussing the strategic partnership
    • Assist with drafting partnership and campaign proposals and marketing plans
    • Support partnership management and execution needs, coordinating with the marketing operations and creative teams on making sure tasks are being completed in a timely manner
    • Act as partnership project champion across the business and assist in key cross-functional communication and meetings
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing & Partnerships, on developing and executing “Women in Business” and “Moments” content to post on Birchbox social media channels. Responsibilities include:
    • Coming up with, researching, and pitching ideas for content
    • Support content management and execution needs, coordinating with the marketing operations and creative teams on making sure tasks are being completed in a timely manner
    • Act as content champion across the business and assist in key cross-functional communication and meetings
  • Monitor industry news, emerging trends and competitive landscape
  • Support the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing & Partnerships in daily administrative tasks
  • General admin and operations (budget, finance, legal, HR)

About You

  • Actively enrolled in a related BS or Masters degree
  • Passion for marketing, creativity and brand development
  • Disruptive thinker. Equally skilled and passionate about analytics and creativity
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
  • Strong communicator. Ability to voice when help is needed and ask questions is important
  • Resourceful problem solver. You are comfortable working autonomously and figuring things out on your own
  • Perceptive. You think through next steps before taking action, in an effort to understand and appropriately deal with various cross-team personalities, goals, and priorities
  • Excellent written communicator
  • Experience with Excel and Powerpoint

** Please note that this internship is for credit only. Candidates should be able to dedicate between 15-20 hours per week during the fall semester. **
