Block Renovation Business Development Intern

Block is a renovation platform transforming the $400 billion renovation industry. Today, doing a home renovation is an abysmal consumer experience and not easy for contractors either. Block democratizes access to high-end design, while combining design, construction, and materials into a streamlined experience. Block simplifies a complex and convoluted process and gives homeowners certainty on outcomes, quality, price, and time.

ROLE

The Business Development Intern will support the sales and business development team initiatives by conducting analysis and research, while aiding in outreach to prospective partners. 

Our business development team is building partnerships that directly drive revenue growth and diversification of customer acquisition channels for the business. We are building relationships in the real estate agent world and making Block the go-to partner for brokers and their clients when they are buying / selling homes. As a business development intern you will be assisting in identifying targets, building outreach strategies and working directly with the sales and BD leadership to construct and execute these partnerships with the goal of creating a flywheel source of new demand. You have empathy for both homeowners and builders, both of which are critical for the company’s success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in building Block’s presence among B2B community via research, cold calling, email, and website outreach
  • Understand and communicate the Block value prop to prospective partners
  • Utilize CRM and other potential external tools to build prospect lists and properly track your outreach and conversations (Hubspot/Salesforce experience is preferred).
  • Work closely with leadership to execute partner growth communication strategies
  • Evaluate potential partnership opportunities based on market dynamics, expected profitability, and strategic value

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A current college student or recent graduate.  The ideal candidate will have 6+ months of cold calling, prospecting, and sales experience and should be able to come up with creative solutions to prospect & vet potential leads (i.e. build scraping tools).
  • No task is too small attitude and willingness to take any project on
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, scrappy team environment with extraordinary attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Excel experience is a plus
  • Highly ambitious and goal-oriented
  • Demonstrates Company Philosophies in how they work
  • Able to build for long term, but also able to find efficient short-term solutions

*​​By November 1st, 2021, all BLOCK employees will be required to be vaccinated if they are coming into the office. Proof of vaccination will be required and sent to the Office Manager prior to arrival.
