The job

We’re looking for a content coordinator with excellent writing skills to join our growing creative team in New York City. The role is for a 6 month period.

Written content plays a huge role in fueling growth at TransferWise and were just getting started. You’ll be at the center of that. It’ll be fun, fast paced, and you’ll have the enviable task of creating the best content marketing in the known universe.

What will you be doing?

  • Commissioning, editing and writing high quality, readable and shareable content. You’ll brainstorm new story ideas to reach new audiences and be responsibe for delivering them.
  • Working with the North America team’s content and marketing manager to create articles that will be read by milions of people from all walks of life.
  • Managing a content pipeline that’ll reach people from several APAC regions, formating articles, sourcing beautiful imagery and, where needed, working with freelancers and translators to help produce great writing for our blog (transferwise.com/us/blog).
  • Meticulously and efficiently organizing a workflow of content that helps build TransferWise into one of the most respected and exciting financial brands in the world.
  • Analyzing what works, what doesn’t, and what we could be doing better.
  • Working closely with our paid social marketing team to make sure our content marketing gets read by the right people at the right time.

What skills do you have? What type of person are you?

  • You are an impeccable writer and editor. You can spot a missing apostrophe from 50 yards. In fact, you’ve already seen (and been appalled by) five spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in this job listing. (Did you spot them? Please point them out to us in your application.)
  • You proofread meticulously and tirelessly polish your writing. You know how to take a long-winded paragraph and create something snappy, compelling, and readable.
  • You’re organized, structured and have great planning skills. You’ll be working on several projects and will need to be on top of everything. When you see a project that lacks structure, you don’t stand on ceremony; you build a system to manage it!
  • You’re fascinated by different cultures and you’re itching to tell their stories.
  • You have an inquisitive, creative and open mind. You take and give straightforward feedback.
  • You’ll need to show initiative and take responsibility for delivering your work.
  • You’ve had some writing or editing experience and have the portfolio and results to prove it.

Sound right for you? Here’s how to apply.

Please submit two pieces of writing from your portfolio that you’re particularly proud of, with an explanation of why you’re proud of them. What was it you set out to achieve when you wrote them and how did you set about it? Please also attach your resume and the five mistakes you spotted in this job listing.

Please note: we cannot offer visa sponsorship for this internship
