Latch is hiring a Data Engineering Intern for our Data Team to be an integral part of building Latch’s infrastructure and architecture for data generation. As a Data Engineering intern here at Latch, you’ll be helping to cover all aspects of Latch’s data strategy including analysis, engineering, and science. This role is highly-collaborative, building tools and working alongside our Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Finance teams, to name a few.

The engineering team works in a fast-paced and highly-challenging environment, which means that as an intern at Latch, you’ll be given real projects that greatly impact the future of the company.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines, building scalable and optimized enterprise-level data systems
• Collaborate with other teams in the company, both engineering and business counterparts alike
• Work closely with our Data Scientists to grant them the means to perform research and analyses to identify trends and relations of data sets 
• Be a helping hand with tools used by other teams such as Sales CRMs, Operations Customer Success tools, Marketing automation, and Finance ERPs
  

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or Statistics from an accredited university (preference for those graduating Winter 2020 or Spring 2021)
• Proficient in at least one general software programming language (Python or Scala)
• Fundamental understanding of algorithms and data structures 
• Fundamental understanding of SQL
• Familiarity of database technology, schema design, and query optimization techniques
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data transformations
• Passion for Machine Learning models
