Editorial Production Intern
We are Teachable, an online courses and coaching platform that helps creators in all categories from pottery making to marketing to coding and beyond, make money by sharing what they know. We are a team of 150 marketing, tech, sales, customer care and finance experts working to change the way people work and make money.
The Teachable marketing team is looking for an enthusiastic, driven editorial production intern to join our team for the summer semester (approximately June 15 to September 15; exact dates to be determined). Our marketing department produces major virtual campaigns, social media content, editorial content, paid content, and more. We’re looking for an energetic, thoughtful, and hard working intern to join the editorial team and work on content production for the Teachable blog, newsletter, and associated content properties.
This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained experience in editorial marketing strategy and production. You will report directly to the Editorial Strategist and can expect to gain WordPress blog production skills, basic SEO for editorial and marketing knowledge, newsletter copywriting skills, editorial strategy planning, and more.
Sample responsibilities:
- Build and produce blog content on a daily basis
- Optimize blog posts for SEO and readability; conduct minor SEO research
- Put in photo and design requests for blog posts and weekly newsletters
- Assist with freelance writer communications and pitch review
- Update the weekly editorial calendar, merchandise log, and freelancer assignment tracker
- Build and assist with weekly newsletter production
- Complete editorial tasks such as case study transcriptions and attend creator interviews
- Work on various editorial projects including creator interview research, PDF/content download lead nurture intake, image and content research, and so much more
- Opportunity to pitch copy ideas to newsletter and blog as internship progresses
Requirements:
- Undergraduate student majoring in Journalism, English, Marketing, or Advertising (other majors may be considered on a case by case basis)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Driven and hard-working with a sharp eye for detail
- Ability to take direction and multi-task
