Vimeo’s Web QA (Quality Assurance) team is forward-thinking. We believe that the quality of our customers’ experience is the responsibility of everyone who works at Vimeo. The team’s goal is to enable the Core Product organization to confidently do higher-quality work more efficiently. We’re a small team that encourages curiosity, celebrates technical excellence, and is driven by careful attention to detail and planning for the future. We believe diversity of perspective and experience are key to building great technology and believe that the best way to iterate towards success is by taking care of ourselves, our families, our users and one another.

As a Quality Assurance Intern at Vimeo, you will have the hands-on opportunity to help the software development team for vimeo.com do their best work. Our teams are highly collaborative and learning-focused, meaning that you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make a visible difference/impact on the work your team does, as well as how they do it.

What you’ll do:

  • Learn a variety of modern, creative approaches to verifying the quality of the work our developers do, to prevent breaking the current product when new features are added.
  • Reproduce problems that exist on our website, as reported by our community of users, as well as document and advocate to have the most important ones addressed.
  • Work with members of the design, product, data and customer support departments to help them understand what will work best for our customers
  • Assist in planning and documenting the approach QA takes to testing various tools and products offered on vimeo.com.
  • Work with other quality analysts to assist with initiatives which will protect and uphold the quality of our products.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical team members.
  • Participate in reviews of designs for upcoming work, and provide feedback on opportunities to improve those designs and how they fit into the larger context of the site.
  • Collaborate in a diverse and inclusive team environment that is open-minded, respectful, and effective!

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • Working on a degree in design, engineering, or other related creative or technical field.
  • Comfortability with significant autonomy as well as with working in ambiguity in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Pride in the high standards you set for the work you do
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills
  • Proactive demeanor and highly-disciplined approach to work
  • A willingness to be respectfully blunt: to stand up for what you believe is important even when others disagree, to use evidence and reasoning to back up your opinion, and to negotiate in moments of ambiguity.
  • Ability to see the big picture, as well as the focus to stay attentive to all of the little details
  • Empathy for others’ experiences and a deep-seated passion for improving the experience, ease of use, and usability of Vimeo’s tools

Bonus points:

  • You already have a habit/history of submitting feedback to websites and apps
  • You enjoy playing the role of coordinator: you tend to end up wearing the “product manager” hat in group projects, organizing events for a club or other organization you’re involved in, or similar

While we offer competitive compensation, we don't provide accommodation. Please ensure you are interested in an internship in New York City under these circumstances before applying.
