Overview

Smartling is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Marketing Intern to work in the marketing department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is hungry to be part of a fast-paced marketing team at a tech startup. You will assist in the day-to-day function of the marketing team while learning the skills necessary to thrive in the field. Primary responsibilities include the execution of the social media strategy, setting up static pages and landing pages on smartling.com, designing strategic and engaging images for the website and social, coordinating extensive, often time-sensitive field marketing logistics, and more.

Tasks at Hand

  • Provide support in the day-to-day marketing activities across the Field Marketing, Demand Generation teams.
  • Write copy for social media and digital campaigns, including tweets, LinkedIn posts, landing pages, and emails.
  • Design engaging visual media content to accompany digital and marketing campaigns to be featured on the Smartling website and social media channels as well as on-site at owned events and third party conferences.
  • Extensive sourcing and follow-up communication for a variety of vendors to support all owned and third-party events.
  • Source vendors for event spaces, venues, marketing collateral, etc.
  • Assist the Marketing Team with presentation decks and reports for marketing campaigns and programs.
  • Develop an understanding of the different marketing functions, their interdependencies and look at opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management.
  • Be a brand ambassador.

Must Haves

  • 4-year degree or college senior preferred.
  • Time commitment for a 6 month internship.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter - take ownership of projects and carry them to completion with understanding of time-sensitive nature of tasks.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks while communicating effectively throughout the process.
  • Interest in B2B SaaS technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy copy editing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of the a team.
  • Strong creativity and imagination.
  • Interest in language, culture and global thinking.
  • Experience or knowledge of HubSpot a plus, as well as SalesForce and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Graphic design experience is a huge plus.
