Job Description

We Are

The DigITs (Digital Informatics & Technology Solutions) team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking undergraduate students ready to immerse themselves in technology solutions and make an actionable impact in the fight against cancer.

Digital, data and technology are critical in today’s academic healthcare industry for reaching new populations, standardizing data, and reducing healthcare costs. The DigITs team works on everything from implementing the latest technologies like AI/machine learning to partnering with our clinicians and researchers to use data for improving patient care.

This 10-week virtual summer internship program will partner you with technology, informatics and data leaders to explore MSK’s constantly evolving digital enterprise through interesting project work, while providing you with new learning opportunities and foundational knowledge in how technology in academic medicine creates a foundation for research, learning and patient care.

Dates: Summer Semester, June 7– August 13, 2021

Project Focus Areas (subject to availability):

  • Business Administration/Finance
  • Clinical/Health Informatics
  • Data/Analytics
  • Design Thinking /New Products
  • Hardware/Infrastructure
  • Project Management
  • Research
  • Software/Development/Application Design
  • AI/Machine Learning

In addition to project work, students will participate in workshops and learning events geared to orient students to life at MSK and help prepare them for the next steps in their professional careers.

Learning Opportunities (subject to availability):

  • Overview of Academic Medicine with Hospital Leadership
  • The New Wave of Digital Transformation in Healthcare
  • Diversity in Leadership
  • Professional core / soft skill development

At the end of the internship, students will have the opportunity to work as a team to complete a Hackathon challenge and present their contributions to DigITs Executive Leadership.

  • Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency
  • Professional, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Bonus: Enthusiastic about Digital Transformation and have a strong sense of curiosity to explore and implement new digital solutions!

You Have:

  • Enrolled as a Student in a program for 2021-2022 calendar year
  • Preferably Bachelor’s degree program, entering your Junior or Senior year
  • Select projects may require technical skill proficiency; please note in your CV
