MMSD Sales Desk Internship, Summer 2023
The Opportunity
At MassMutual Strategic Distributors, we are looking for and investing in students who will become tomorrow's future for our organization. As an intern in our MMSD Wholesaling organization at MassMutual, you will help solve real business problems, develop both the personal and professional skills needed to build a successful career, while having fun and building relationships that will last a lifetime. As an intern you will be able to demonstrate your ability to adapt and thrive in complex, uncertain and changing situations while highlighting your intellectual curiosity as a continuous learner. You'll be able to earn confidence and trust through ownership, commitment, and follow-through in achieving results in your projects, while building a deeper understanding of how a business operates, specifically with a continuous improvement mindset. You will bring your ability to manage priorities effectively and adapt quickly to achieve goals.
The Program
This program is intended for college students who are preparing for a future in Sales, Wholesaling and Distribution. As part of our Summer 2023 Life and Disability Distribution Wholesaling Organization, you will be a part of a company that fosters an inclusive and dynamic environment where our employees are valued for who they are and can build successful careers. Meaningful Projects: Apply your knowledge and skills by participating in high profile projects in a respected and highly rated company. Take part in our collaborative work environment focusing on process improvements that help us better serve our customers, including both external and internal customers.
Mentors: Be paired with professionals at MassMutual Strategic Distributors to learn about the business throughout several departments while utilizing your mentors as a sounding board to share and shape your ideas.
Networking Opportunities: Engage with the greater MassMutual community by being involved in networking activities and smaller group meetings with senior leaders in the company.

The Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED
Must be a current college student enrolled in a four-year bachelor's degree program, with a graduation date of 2024
Must have currently a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
At least one year of work experience
Demonstrated leadership skills gained from student clubs, community involvement or work experience
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
The Ideal Qualifications
At least 2 years experience in sales or customer service
Possesses an interest in Risk Management and Insurance business, entrepreneurship, sales, marketing, or related field
Must be coachable, ethical, service oriented, a team player and relationship builder
Strong, creative problem solver
Strong data analysis skills
Able to influence others and demonstrate strong consultative skills
Works autonomously, self-starter
Intellectually curious and agile learner
Able to demonstrate strong business acumen
Minor in Information Technology or Computer Science
Military experience a plus!

Location – REMOTE/Springfield/Boston/New York City
This internship is REMOTE, however, although you have an opportunity to work out of Springfield, MA office Head Quarters (1295 State Street Springfield, MA 01111) or Boston Seaport office (10 Fan Pier Boulevard, Boston, MA 02210)
Work Schedule
8 Hours per day / 40 hours per week
8 weeks; June 5th-July 28th
Compensation
$25/hr
