The marketing team at theSkimm is made up of experienced, resourceful, creative, scrappy hustlers. We pull out all the stops to get sh*t done. We’re seeking a Paid Media intern who is ready to jump in and help us drive our paid acquisition business. In this role, you will work with the Paid Marketing Manager on day-to-day paid campaign management, ad operations, channel research and paid reporting.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You will be supporting the Paid Marketing Manager with all aspects paid from campaign build/management, channel reporting, channel research and POV’s to paid strategy for user acquisition across our Daily Newsletter and Mobile App. The nuts and bolts of the role will be:

  • Daily campaign management including but not limited to:
    • Daily campaign pacing and budgeting
    • Daily campaign optimization recommendations
    • Campaign set-up and tracking implementation
    • Budget reconciliation
    • Creative & message testing
  • New channel research and POV’s
  • Weekly paid reporting
  • Coordinating with theSkimm’s Digital Agency on mobile app acquisition
  • Help compile and review keyword lists
  • Meet with media sales representatives to obtain information about their products
  • Review industry trades for new sites, innovative and creative ad units and technologies, as well as competitive information

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

  • Mid to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and working knowledge of all Microsoft office platforms
  • Highly motivated self-starter with extreme attention to detail, a passion for numbers and no trouble multitasking
  • Knowledge of digital media landscape, channels and basic media formulas
  • Excellent professional and presentation skills and you truly enjoy working with other people

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • Keen interest in digital media
  • Experience with paid social or paid search planning or buying
  • Accredited industry certifications (e.g. Google AdWords, Facebook Blueprint, Google Analytics)
