VICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW

VICE interns will get a firsthand look into how an international media company functions on a day-to-day basis. At VICE, interns have the opportunity to learn about journalism, editing, design, public relations, production, and more. 

VICE’s Human Resources Department oversees the training and learning experience of each intern by providing interns with seminars on career development, and helping them achieve goals throughout the session. VICE is dedicated to its internship program and often times the best and the brightest are selected to join the VICE family. 

QUALITY ASSURANCE INTERN

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Assurance Intern will be responsible for testing and validating functional and non-functional technical requirements in the software, and documenting any issues that arise. They will also gain a basic understanding of the software to perform negative and regression testing.

Responsibilities will include testing mobile applications across iOS, Android and Windows technologies, executing high level and detailed performance and functional tests for web based applications on multiple platforms, and testing software programs to establish that all business requirements are implemented completely and correctly and are traceable to system requirements. The QA Intern will also work with web applications and/or web-based technologies where they will identify, analyze and report defects with full evidence, such as functionality errors, inconsistencies in software program functions, file outputs, user interface forms, content and system usability issues.

In addition, they will be responsible for logging, tracking and verifying resolution of software and specification defects. The QA Intern will work within a software development team and will be trained on quality control practices and defect management.

IMPORTANT

Applicants must meet ALL of the criteria below to be eligible:

  • Interns must currently be enrolled in a college/university
  • Interns are paid $11/hour
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Interns are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week
  • Interns must attend an Intern Orientation prior to starting
  • Interns must provide their own laptop for the duration of the program
