Job Description

The Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials Consortium (PCCTC) team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) is seeking undergraduate students to contribute to the PCCTC mission while the PCCTC in turn provides exposure and support for undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in clinical research or other health professions. Students will learn about aspects of clinical research and meet people in different clinical and research professions by working with various members of the PCCTC team for the summer.

 

The PCCTC’s distinguished investigators work together on a single mission: to design, implement and complete hypothesis-driven trials in prostate cancer, translating scientific discoveries to improve standards of care. We offer services to carry out this mission ensuring efficient trial selection, reporting, site management, clinical operations and data management.

 

This 10-week virtual summer internship program will partner you with our Research Operations and Data Management leaders to explore PCCTC’s services and research portfolio, while providing you with new learning opportunities and foundational knowledge in clinical research.

Dates: June – August 2021 (Exact dates TBD)

Areas of Focus Include (subject to availability):

  • Research Operations and Data Management
  • Regulatory documentation
  • Study & site management
  • Site monitoring & data monitoring
  • Correlative sciences

At the end of the internship, students will have the opportunity to present what they learned and their contributions during our PCCTC team meeting.

You Are:

  • Willing to take action and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency
  • Professional, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Bonus: Interested in medicine and research and enthusiastic about improving processes and improving the lives of cancer patients.

You Need:

  • Enrolled as a Student in a program for 2021-2022 calendar year
  • Preferably Bachelor’s degree program, entering your Junior or Senior year
  • Select projects may require technical skill proficiency; please note in your resume
