* This is a full-time spring co-op internship based in New York City. Latch does not provide housing or a relocation stipend for interns. Additionally, this intern must be able to commit to working full-time over the semester; 40 hours/week. *

Latch is hiring a Robotics Software Engineering Co-Op Intern for the Spring 2020 semester to work alongside our Robotics Team to design, develop, and integrate our robotic test systems for Latch products. The robotic system will be used to simulate the daily interactions that Latch products face in the field, and gather data to guarantee their reliability and security. The engineering team works in a fast-paced and highly-challenging environment, which means that as an intern at Latch, you’ll be given real projects that greatly impact the future of the company.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with our Robotics Test Engineer and Software Developers to design new, automatic-robotic testing systems, and define methods of control
  • Develop user interfaces and define modes of interaction 
  • Develop data processing, visualizations, and metrics for evaluating the performance of Latch products
  • Automate existing manual tests, and develop systems for its general use
  • Identify and document bugs in both the locks and robots
  • Create detailed and well-structured test plans
  • Investigate new technologies for the testing of next-generation products

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Computer Science 
  • Experience working with Python, SQL, and Linux
  • Familiarity with REST APIs including Flask and/or Django
  • General understanding of post/get requests, web services, and multithreaded/multiprocessing systems
  • Experiencing using and developing Python GUIs
  • Interest in databases, data visualization & developing user-friendly business intelligence tools
  • Experience bug tracking, managing projects, identifying root-cause issues, and integration
  • Demonstrated passion, initiative, innovation, and creativity
