This role is responsible for migrating systems, data, and user accounts, ensuring secure, reliable, and timely transitions with minimal business disruption.

Working independently and with cross-functional partners, the Cloud Engineer assesses source environments, designs and executes phased migrations, and optimizes the target environment post-integration. Occasional travel and after-hours work may be required to support critical migration timelines.

COMPENSATION: $90,000 - $110,000/annually in addition to a competitive bonus plan

  • Connecting and harmonizing the cloud and on-premises systems of the merging or acquiring companies.

  • Comfortable working independently to do the heavy lift of M&A data migrations from various systems to M365 / Entra ID

  • Audit existing environments to understand user accounts, data, permissions, and applications in both tenants.

  • Creating a detailed plan for data mapping and user onboarding, and executing the migration in phases to minimize downtime and ensure alignment with the overall M&A timeline

  • Clean up data and streamline resources to simplify the migration process and improve the new environment’s performance

  • Migrate data and user mailboxes, email addresses, and other resources from the source tenant to the target tenant.

  • Perform the technical migration, which can be phased or run in waves to minimize disruption

  • Monitor the new environment to ensure everything is working correctly and to identify any further optimization opportunities

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in IT or Computer Science plus 4 years of directly relevant experience or High School diploma with 6 years of directly relevant experience.

  • 2+ years of experience executing M&A integrations in a corporate or consulting cloud environment.

  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex engineering challenges.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a high degree of on-time technical execution

  • Significant experience demonstrating firsthand, independent technical proficiency in M&A integrations

  • Sold foundation using M&A specific toolsets for M365 migrations such as BitTitan, ShareGate, or CoreView

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID and M365 suite of applications
