Responsibilities: 

  • Develop new code and fix and improve existing backend code implementing tax calculations on securities transactions, using Java 
  • Will be responsible for analyzing requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, and support of various submodules.  
  • Serves as a change agent, seeking to constantly improve processes, products and services; Actively communicates with management and staff 
  • Follows all leading practices for development; Mentors less experienced team members; Actively participates in the development of a strong team 

Requirements:   

  • Java SE, 8/8+ years of experience, including experience with Java 8 
  • Experience with algorithm design and analysis  
  • Basic familiarity with financial securities and transactions (stocks, options, bonds, etc.)  
  • Experience debugging legacy codebases, and refactoring them to reduce bugs and increase maintainability  
  • Ability to analyze complex technical requirements 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills 

Desired Skills:   

  • Familiarity with partnership allocation tax calculations 
  • Experience working with JUnit or other unit testing frameworks. 
  • Experience working with git source control
