Role Value Proposition:
We are looking for a Mainframe SRE who can design, and implement modern HA, DR, and Cyber capabilities, and maintain the platform architecture for our Mainframe systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and scalability of our Mainframe infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with other SREs, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet our customers' needs and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a modern platform architecture for our Mainframe systems, including hardware, software, network, storage, and security components.
- Monitor and troubleshoot the Mainframe systems and applications, using tools such as Mainview and a modern telemetry data lake.
- Perform root cause analysis and incident response for Mainframe issues.
- Optimize the Mainframe systems and applications, using techniques such as automation, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with other SREs, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure the alignment of the Mainframe platform architecture with the business objectives and requirements.
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the Mainframe domain and propose improvements and innovations.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in Mainframe engineering, administration, or operations,
- Expert knowledge of Mainframe platform architecture, including hardware, software, network, storage, and security components.
- Expertise with GDPS, GM (Global Mirror), and MGM (Metro/ Global Mirror), Fail and stay (flex capacity), Cyber resilience, and Safeguarded copy.
- Experience in Mainframe SRE, DevOps methodologies, and tools, such as zCX, UCD, zSecure, QRadar, OpenShift, and Java.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Proficient in Mainframe technologies, such as z/OS, CICS, DB2, MQ, IMS, RACF, JCL, COBOL, and Assembler.

The salary range for applicants for this position is $110,000 - $155,000.
