As our Associate Corporate Counsel, you will negotiate critical business and commercial contracts for our early stage operating companies and scale our legal department’s processes so that we can provide best-in-class legal services to our 18 (and counting) incubated businesses.
You will report to our Deputy General Counsel and work with our legal team at our New York City headquarters. This role is based in New York City, but applicants with an intent to move (or return) to New York City may start remotely.
What you'll do:
- Work with the Redesign Health Legal Team
- Support the senior members of the legal team by drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting a wide variety of commercial agreements, such as non-disclosure, vendor, partner, services, consulting and other commercial contracts.
- Draft terms of use, privacy policies, disclosures, consent forms, and disclaimers.
- Provide practical and strategic business-focused advice to all stakeholders, summarizing and socializing complex legal concepts for business teams.
- Support our Operating Companies
- Creating templates for standard contracts requested by our operating companies.
- Implementing vendor contracting processes for operating company requests.
- Building relationships with the executives of recently launched companies that require significant support.
- Provide day-to-day support to our operating companies. Representative work includes:
- Implement Legal Team Processes
- Design, build and improve the legal department’s processes and procedures with an emphasis on scalability, including implementing procedures for contract management and creating playbooks for common legal processes.
- Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of corporate policies and procedures as needed.
What you'll need:
- Background
- Minimum 3 years of relevant law experience in a major law firm. Candidates with relevant in-house experience will be considered.
- Experience drafting commercial contracts.
- Admitted to practice law in the State of New York, or admitted in another jurisdiction and willing to take the New York Bar within a reasonable period of time after commencing employment at Redesign.
