What You’ll Do
- Work closely with our General Counsel in navigating a wide range of matters, with an initial focus on the company’s commercial deals. The role is intended to be broad and will present a great opportunity to take on additional responsibility and make an outsized impact as one of the company’s first in-house lawyers.
- Take point on a range of key commercial agreements, from the company’s terms of service to master services agreements and NDAs to major partnership deals
- Develop and evolve contract templates, clause libraries, and other similar tools to boost the efficiency and repeatability of the company’s legal processes
- Assist in corporate governance by attending board meetings, preparing minutes and resolutions, and assisting with meeting agendas and materials
- Monitor and advise on privacy, employment, and other regulatory developments that could impact the company’s products and services
- Advise on sales, marketing, rights issues, employment, and other legal and policy matters arising in the course of the company’s business
What We’re Looking For
- You hold a JD from a top law school and are qualified to practice law in either NY or CA
- You have 5+ years’ experience as a transactional attorney; SaaS or other technology company experience preferred but not required
- You pride yourself on your meticulous attention to detail
- You’re able to communicate complex concepts in simple, clear terms to lawyers and non-lawyers alike
- You’re solution-oriented and always looking for a path to “yes”
- You like to collaborate and are able to build effective relationships with different groups
- You’re comfortable operating in an environment where processes and structures are still evolving, and you’re excited to play a role in shaping them

Location: NY or LA
