We are looking for an Associate General Counsel - Regulatory to help build and lead a world-class Legal team.
You will be comfortable across a variety of areas and applications of law, including regulatory, privacy, and product. You are familiar with the regulations that might impact a global technology company that provides an innovative mental healthcare solution, and can leverage that knowledge to help the company scale. You love driving things from a legal perspective, but have a business-oriented, practical, approach that recognizes that your ultimate goal is to enable the company to succeed.
What you'll be doing
- Regulatory Guidance Provide regulatory review and guidance in support of the development, distribution, marketing, sale, and use of the Spring Health solution. Advise on regulatory implications for new features and products, international growth, joint venture deals, M&A transactions, etc. Serve as a business partner, providing ethics and compliance guidance to various business units. Conduct ongoing legal research to ensure current knowledge of ethics and compliance issues, as well as industry trends, best practices, federal and state laws/guidance, etc.
- Compliance Program Working with Spring Health’s Quality & Compliance team, implement a Regulatory Compliance Program to ensure that Spring Health complies with applicable laws and regulations in a manner consistent with best practices. Develop and deliver targeted and effective training on applicable laws and regulations, internal policies, and compliance risk areas.
- Investigations and Audits Conduct and manage compliance investigations regarding allegations of potential violations of law or company policies and/or ethical standards, prepare reports on the results of the investigations, and assist with the determination and implementation of corrective actions. Respond to compliance audit requests from customers and regulators as needed.
- Outside Counsel Select and manage external counsel/vendors/consultants as required to perform the responsibilities above.
What we expect from you:
- 6+ years of experience at a combination of a top-tier law firm and emerging growth companies, with at least 4 years working in the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance matters affecting global healthcare companies, including HIPAA, ERISA, Knox-Keene licensing, MHPA, MHPAEA, ADA, COBRA, GDPR, DOT, and ACA.
- You are a creative problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity, complexity, and nuance
- You have excellent legal and business judgment and the ability to translate complex legal issues and risks into concepts your team can understand and execute on
- You take your work, but not yourself, seriously
