We're looking for a Director of Compliance to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team, and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will work within the Legal, Privacy, and Compliance team to lead the development and administration of Flatiron Health’s compliance program. Dynamic leadership of the compliance program is essential to ensure that Flatiron Health meets the legal and ethical requirements of the Office of the Inspector General/HHS and the Department of Justice; regulations under HIPAA, the FCA, HITECH, and other statutes; our contractual obligations to our corporate partners; and our internal Code of Conduct. In sum, the role will function as a director in the professional discipline of compliance, tasked with keeping the Flatiron Health Compliance Committee aligned with its strategic guidelines; maintaining policy and procedure repositories for assessing and managing risk; and working cross-functionally to help ensure security and compliance across the organization, its contractors, and its vendors. You will work primarily with the Privacy Officer, Compliance colleagues, and the Assistant General Counsel for Compliance to:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of Flatiron Health’s compliance program, including policy development, operations monitoring, incident investigation, and remediation of violations.
  • Establish effective working relationships and build credibility within the organization to support a proactive culture of compliance and business ethics.
  • Partner with internal teams including Security, Privacy, Quality, and IT, and with external consultants, auditors, and government agencies.
  • Collaborate on compliance activities with Flatiron Health’s business teams, which develop technology, products, and services to enhance oncology research and support oncology care providers.
  • Develop and maintain compliance training for employees.
  • Champion an optimal program through the smooth integration of compliance practices with business operations.
  • Assist in ongoing development of compliance program performance, taking appropriate strategic actions to innovate improvements, analyze trends, and facilitate organizational assimilation of lessons learned.
  • Proactively acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations in the areas of healthcare compliance, including anti-fraud programs, finance best practices, and privacy and security requirements.
  • Help develop and execute third-party compliance planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Inherent in the role of Director of Compliance is the opportunity to interface across cross-functional teams at Flatiron and to drive top-down engagement in the compliance program at all levels. This role will also foster strong connections between Privacy and Compliance, ensuring continuity of policies and synergy of the functions.
