Corporate Counsel (Data Privacy) (Foursquare Labs, Inc.; New York, NY)

Use strong communication skills (verbal and written) to provide strategic legal advice and counsel to product and engineering teams on a broad range of compliance, consumer product, and data privacy issues. Establish the company's global data privacy policies (including General Data Protection Regulation policies). Liaise with relevant business stakeholders as necessary to assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements (including master services, licensing, professional services, marketing, and vendor agreements). Assist with corporate, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, litigation, employment, international, and other legal matters as required. Remain up-to-date on relevant industry, consumer protection, privacy, intellectual property, and high-tech laws to be able to provide informed legal and business advice.

Minimum Requirements: J.D., L.L.M., L.L.B. or foreign equivalent in law. Must have 3 years of professional experience in developing and implementing corporate and global data privacy and security policies (including data protection standards); and must be admitted to the New York State Bar. Must also have the following: 1 year of professional experience in developing data Privacy Shield policies and procedures. 1 year of professional experience in creating corporate data privacy standards and procedures that comply with foreign government regulations. 1 year of professional experience in creating corporate data privacy standards and procedures that comply with U.S. government regulations.
