The Role

The NS1 legal team is looking for a motivated corporate generalist to report directly to the General Counsel. This role provides legal guidance to internal clients at all levels in the company, negotiates commercial transactions with third parties and ensures global compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position is perfect for a highly qualified lawyer looking to transition to an in-house opportunity with high growth potential. This role is based in the company’s headquarters in NYC.

In this role, you will:

- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts including SAAS, licenses, strategic partnerships, and vendor contracts.

- Work with cross-functional teams to identify risks and provide strategic, practical and creative legal and business advice.

- Develop and maintain expert current knowledge on new developments and legal guidance relevant to our business.

- Work with the General Counsel to develop the strategy for the legal function at NS1.

As the legal team's first hire, you will play an integral role in developing and expanding the legal function within NS1.

Your Skills:

• JD from an ABA accredited law school and 3-5 years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house
• Experience negotiating SaaS agreements and software licenses
• Excellent contract drafting and interpretation skills
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership with strong work ethic and follow-through skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, with a proven ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
• Curiosity about internet tech and willingness to learn technical concepts
• Detail-oriented and dynamic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

• Basic understanding of IP concepts
• Familiarity with securities laws
• Experience with startups
