Corporate Counsel
About the Role
We’re looking for a Corporate Counsel who is a pragmatic and effective technology lawyer. Do you like to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment? In this role you will report to ActionIQ Head of Legal and provide support to our sales and customer success teams and handle the legal pieces of our procurement function. You will also assist the rest of the legal team with employment, privacy, marketing counseling, product counseling and strategic initiatives. We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, wants to grow with the company and make a significant impact.
Responsibilities
- Work with the sales team on drafting, negotiation and execution of agreements with our enterprise customers.
- Review and negotiate a wide variety of partner and vendor agreements, including SaaS Agreements, recruiting agreements, sponsorship agreements, NDAs and other commercial agreements.
- Collaborate closely with teams across the organization including sales, finance, accounting, marketing, product, people and others.
- Support other legal team members on privacy related matters such as GDPR and CCPA compliance.
- Assist with developing best practice processes, templates, playbooks, and contract automation.
- Develop scalable training materials and regularly train the sales and customer teams in all things related to contracts.
- Assist with the maintenance of a contract management software.
Requirements
- JD or LL.M from a leading Law School.
- Member of the New York Bar (in good standing).
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience (e.g., tech/privacy department of law firm, in-house legal department in a technology company).
- Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and other data privacy laws preferred.
- Outstanding contract drafting and negotiating skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Pragmatic mindset towards protecting the company from risk while enabling fast paced growth and innovation.
- Ability to excel in working with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently while having good judgment to escalate significant matters.
- Ability to effectively create and implement new and scalable processes.
