CLEAR is currently seeking a Director, Policy Communications for the Public Affairs team. The Director will report to the Head of Public Affairs and ideally be based in New York City with consideration given to Washington, DC. This person will lead and manage CLEAR’s policy communications efforts in public policy, government affairs, and corporate communications.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop a clear picture of global, regional, and industry trends to better keep CLEAR informed on developing issue areas 
  • Work across public affairs and other teams to provide valuable insights on various issues, policy questions, crisis situations and other significant events 
  • Identify and analyze legislation at the local, state, and federal level to determine potential risk and impact on CLEAR
  • Be a central hub of knowledge for the team
  • Write and/or oversee the production of materials such as weekly trend reports, media analysis, issue specific briefings, policy analysis, and executive level briefings
  • Leverage internal data, industry and consumer trends to develop relevant reports and case studies for internal and external purposes 
  • Contribute to presentations, working documents/spreadsheets/databases, and government affairs and corporate communications materials


Who You Are:

  • 8+ years experience working in policy and research on a political campaign, in government role or in a fast-paced corporate or agency environment
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field of study
  • Demonstrated understanding of global politics and economic policy
  • Experience conducting a wide range of research for executives, leadership, or other high-level principals 
  • Desire to address nuanced research questions
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to achieve results and drive projects to completion; strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize time effectively in a fast-paced constantly changing environment

We are located in the Chelsea neighborhood on Manhattan's west side. Chelsea is the primary art district within the borough.
