Job Description:
As the Intellectual Property Specialist on the Marketplace Integrity (MI) team, you will help protect our marketplace and community by leading efforts related to TpT’s Copyright & Trademark Policy, including setting strategy, developing processes & analyzing metrics, working with the team to meet SLAs and driving cross-functional initiatives related to Intellectual Property issues.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the MI Team lead and Legal Team to implement the team’s strategy for enforcing TpT’s Copyright & Trademark Policy
- Manage, improve, and develop systems and processes to manage IP-related work streams
- Work with other members of the MI team to ensure all reports of possible violations of TpT’s Copyright & Trademark Policy are processed within established SLAs
- Participate in the creation of resources and programs to educate TpT users about issues related to Intellectual Property, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and TpT’s Copyright & Trademark Policy
- Manage TpT’s Rights-Holder program, including managing relationships with current and prospective participants and driving cross-functional initiatives to improve systems
- Main work streams will include:
- Ensuring reports of intellectual property infringement on TpT are processed within established SLA
- Serving as a point of escalation for members of the MI team for complex or novel Intellectual Property issues
- Maintaining logs, training materials, and other documents related to enforcement of TpT’s Copyright & Trademark Policy
- Communicating and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders, including rights holders and TpT sellers impacted by enforcement actions.
- Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and updating external-facing educational resources on the topic of intellectual property
- Serving as an internal cross-functional expert on topics related to TpT’s Copyright & Trademark Policy
Qualifications:
- Believes in our mission to connect and empower teachers;
- BA/BS required;
- 5+ years of experience in intellectual property rights management or enforcement
- Experience with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA);
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing cross-functional projects and complex systems;
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with key external stakeholders;
- Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, including through prioritizing work for other team members;
- Attention to details and highly organized;
- A level-headed approach to policy enforcement and able to apply policy objectively
- Believes that no job is too big or small and is willing to go the extra mile to get the job done well
