Here at Snappy, we’re on the search for a Senior Corporate Counsel. As the company’s second legal hire, you’ll work closely with the VP of Legal and will be an instrumental member of our small but mighty and growing legal team!  This role includes work in the traditional in-house portfolio (negotiating contracts and other agreements, supporting all departments and functions with legal review and advice, managing risk and disputes), as well as on broader strategic issues. We’re in need of someone with a broad understanding of corporate, commercial, intellectual property, privacy, transactional and compliance. This position will work closely with leaders of other departments to achieve business objectives, mitigate risks, and meet legal obligations as Snappy grows.

You will: 

• Provide timely, business-focused advice to all departments, including Operations, Product, Sales, Analytics, Finance, and HR to achieve business objectives, mitigate risks, and meet legal obligations
• Develop and manage a global contracting approach in coordination with sales, information security, finance and tax to improve efficiency and accelerate the sales process across all regions; revise and maintain MSA templates and playbooks; provide dedicated support for MSA negotiation and customer diligence requests
• Review, negotiate and advise on commercial and data privacy agreements and a wide range of other commercial agreements
• Oversee the company’s contract management system and improve internal legal processes, while optimizing the company’s standard forms
• Research and anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company
• Advise on and provide legal support in fundraising scenarios and for transactions
• Manage outside counsel’s delivery of legal services

You are:

• A JD from an accredited institution and a member of the bar in good standing 
• 6+ years of general commercial experience; prior in-house or BigLaw experience preferred, but not required
• Experience structuring, drafting, and discussing a diverse range of commercial agreements (e.g., intellectual property licensing, SaaS, supply, retail, and marketing agreements, etc.)
• A high-caliber, solutions-oriented attorney who is business-minded with practical risk awareness
• Strategic and results-driven, proactive and resourceful
• A self-starter who is at home in a fast-paced, high-growth and informal start-up environment where demands and priorities can change rapidly
• Efficient and effective in your communication across all different levels and teams
• Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and being hands-on
• Eager to develop collaborative relationships with internal partners

Bonus Points For:

• Substantive knowledge of U.S. an EU data specific privacy laws
• In-house experience scaling business and legal processes and policies for a rapidly growing SaaS company
