About the team & Opportunity:

We are looking for a talented person to join our close-knit legal team in our New York headquarters as the second attorney, reporting to the General Counsel. You will provide counseling and legal support in a wide range of legal areas, including employment law and regulatory compliance. You will work directly with a variety of departments across the company, particularly operations, product and marketing, serving as counsel on strategic projects, providing day-to-day advice, and resolving issues that arise across the business.

Accountabilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate master services agreements with enterprise customers and work closely with our Sales organization to close revenue deals
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including consultant  agreements, vendor agreements, business associate and non-disclosure agreements
  • Provide practical counsel to product, engineering, marketing, people and clinical teams on privacy, regulatory, and employment law issues related to new and existing products
  • Design, implement, and iterate on policies, processes, and procedures to manage legal and business risk on a national scale
  • Support the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for business teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A JD and be a member of the New York  Bar in good standing
  • At least 4+ years of law firm experience with training in commercial contracts, healthcare law  and privacy, and 2+ years of in-house experience working in a health insurance, health system, healthcare focused federal or state government agency,  or other healthcare company
  • Passion for partnering with business teams 
  • Experience with drafting and negotiating complex agreements 
  • An ability to translate between business and technical risk and communicate clearly to business and technical constituencies 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Roll-up your sleeves attitude to tackle projects large and small and a low-ego approach to collaborating across the organization
  • Experience with legal issues related to AI/machine learning 
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
