What you will be doing
As the Legal Operations Associate at Eden Health, you will be the fourth member of the Legal Team, reporting directly to the General Counsel and working closely with the whole legal team and cross-functionally. You will have the responsibility of creating and managing internal processes and workflows for the Legal Team. The right candidate will be a lover of processes and systems. The Legal Operations Associate will be dedicated to efficiency and detail-oriented solutions within a fast-changing environment. This could be the ideal position for someone potentially interested in law school down the line and eager to obtain hands-on exposure to legal work at a fast-growing startup. This is a remote position and we will consider candidates from any U.S. location, with a preference for New York. You will be expected to work Eastern Standard time zone business hours. Occasional travel may be requested for team events.
What success looks like
- Assist Corporate & Commercial Counsel with initial review of vendor contracts and NDAs.
- Work with Regulatory Counsel on implementation of HIPAA compliance and regulatory procedures, as well as other compliance programs.
- Roll out, implement and administer contract management systems.
- Manage the intake, tracking of requests, flow and archiving for contracts and other legal agreements.
- Maintain agreement templates and checklists, and manage contract signature processes.
- Draft and review legal documentation based on Company standards.
- Assist in managing and tracking intellectual property related filings.
- Develop and scout for key tools, processes, and technology for the Legal Team to increase efficiency and scale.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal Legal Team knowhow and operational processes.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent organizational, time management, project management, execution and tracking skills.
- Drive to work independently and to plan and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Willingness to wear multiple hats and approach any task with a can-do, flexible attitude, understanding that no job is too big or too small.
- Strong attention to detail and consistent responsiveness.
- Ability to manage a high volume of deadline-oriented tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Paralegal or other experience in the legal realm is helpful, but not required; however, a curiosity and interest for legal work is a must.
- Experience with contracts or contract facilitation is helpful, but not required.
