Role

 

The ideal Legal Operations Associate is a recent grad who will help support our legal, government relations and compliance teams. This person will possess intellectual flexibility and versatility, an attention to detail, and thoughtful and sensitive interpersonal skills. The position reports to the General Counsel, and will work closely with the VP of Government Relations and the VP of Regulatory and Intellectual Property.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Liaise between the Legal team and other stakeholders in the negotiation, drafting, execution, and maintenance of all contracts
  • Manage communications with vendors
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to facilitate corporate legal governance controls, including: contract records management and reporting; state and local filings and tracking; recordkeeping for corporate actions; project planning for legal support of business units
  • Develop key operational metrics for the Legal department and ensure they are met
  • Monitor and track deadlines, conditions and expiration dates of contracts; permits and other time-sensitive matters to ensure timelines are kept; prepare quarter-end reports and participate in internal audits of department processes and procedures
  • Provide support for attorneys in obtaining answers from internal stakeholders related to contract compliance and assisting in ensuring other department compliance with legal requirements

 What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Business Administration, Law, or related field required;
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and project management applications
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
  • Strict adherence to company guidelines, compliance and legal requirements
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently but also to use good judgment to call out issues when needed – intelligent, reliable and a self-starter who takes initiative
