As a Senior Compliance Manager, you’ll report to our Head of Business Line Compliance, and collaborate with functional areas across the company to ensure compliance with applicable federal consumer laws and regulations. Through teamwork, commitment, and a bias toward action, Business Line Compliance functional stakeholders partner with Product, Marketing, and other constituent stakeholders to assist Stash in exceeding its ethical and regulatory expectations.

What you'll do:

  • Provide up-to-date advice and training on regulatory compliance requirements with respect to the development and maintenance of the firm’s products, services, and advertising, and provide full lifecycle support of cross-functional guidance on applicable consumer financial protection and securities laws, rules, and regulations
  • Review and approve Product and Marketing content for compliance with consumer financial protection and securities laws, rules, and regulations and with the firm’s ethical and reputational expectations
  • Act as subject matter expert on consumer financial protection working alongside product and marketing compliance advice and guidance peers
  • Coordinate with Product, Marketing, Legal, Engineering, Operations, and Revenue stakeholders to assist with new business initiatives and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for:

  • At least 7 years of experience as a consumer compliance professional at an insured depository institution or financial technology startup offering retail banking services (including at least 2 years of direct exposure to online and/or mobile banking activities)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, a hard science, and/or a quantitative field
  • Highly-developed interpersonal skills and an aptitude for building strong relationships through the use of engaging, courteous, and persuasive communication
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a bias toward learning and mastery, and an aptitude for thinking clearly about complex issues under conditions of high ambiguity, uncertainty, and pressure
  • Thorough and current regulatory knowledge and understanding of digital compliance issues and consumer compliance regulations (as well as regulatory guidance), including American Disability Act (ADA), Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z), Truth in Savings Act (Regulation DD), Electronic Fund Transfer Act (Regulation E), Expedited Funds Availability Act (Regulation CC), Privacy and Information Sharing, Consumer Complaint Response Programs, ESign, UCC, Gramm-Leach Bliley, TCPA, COPPA, UDAAP, and social media and electronic financial services guidance

Gold Stars:

  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager or other similar designation
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies including, but not limited to, OCC, FDIC, SEC, and the Fed
  • Excellent understanding of digital banking channels, including mobile and other web-based technologies
  • Experience with product management and/or agile technology development, especially with respect to venture-backed entities
  • Familiarity with concepts, tools, and solutions used by product management and software development teams such as application development protocols, cloud-based solutions, and UX/UI design/development process
  • Working knowledge of securities laws, rules, and regulations including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940
  • Juris Doctor
