Senior Paralegal at Checkout.com:
Checkout.com is seeking a dedicated Senior Paralegal to join our legal team to support the business growth and expansion!
You'll be a part of our Corporate and Subsidiary Management team dealing with subsidiary management matters across multiple jurisdictions, as well as provide assistance to key business departments (Tax, Treasury, Finance, Strategy and M&A) in all corporate and group administration matters.
Collaborating with all core functions within the company, the successful candidate will gain a unique perspective on the long-term planning for Checkout.com's growth and have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects and play a key role in the legal team.
What you'll be doing
- Dealing with group companies’ incorporations, dissolutions, capitalisations, board compositions, intra-group transactions, statutory and ad-hoc filings.
- Ongoing subsidiary maintenance and compliance matters.
- Internal restructuring projects.
- Collaborating closely with external counsel and internal business and legal partners.
- Growing and cultivating a high performance culture within the team.
- Draft and review a variety of legal documents (corporate resolutions and minutes of board / committee meetings, etc.)
About you
- Prior experience in subsidiary management matters (including corporate governance).
- Past experience in managing a small team is desirable.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle a high workload.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently with minimal mentorship.
- High level of written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Be open-minded and willing to accept new challenges.
- Be a systemic thinker with proven abilities for process improvement and simplification.
- Proficiency in Diligent Systems, Global Entity Management System (GEMS) or other entity management software.
New York City law requires Checkout.com to include in job postings a reasonable estimated salary range for this position. However, final salaries may vary subject to several factors, such as a candidate’s level, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and proficiency for the role. Please note that this information is provided for those in New York City only, and this role is open to candidates outside of New York City as well.
For regular full-time employees in New York City, the estimated base salary range is from : $80,200- $94,400
