Our Research Oncology team is looking for an outstanding team member who will provide operations support in partnership with oncologists and other clinical members of the team. Successful candidates will be extremely detailed-oriented, skilled at balancing multiple projects at once, and excited to support new knowledge that will accelerate research in oncology and meaningfully improve cancer treatments.

The Research Oncology team plays a critical role in providing clinical and scientific methodology input and oversight for all of our research, in addition to representing our work and Flatiron externally with a wide number of stakeholders and at conferences. This role is intended to help prioritize Research Oncology involvement across the company and externally, both from an organizational and a strategic standpoint.

This will include a wide variety of responsibilities from preparing for conference attendance to developing tools to monitor team projects and capacity, and coordinating with other internal teams on ongoing and upcoming projects projects to ensure the proper clinical input is provided.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the prioritization of requests for Research Oncology’s input through a robust understanding of all of our ongoing projects
  • Develop organizational methods and processes to track, prioritize and communicate expectations about the Research Oncologists’ time and input
  • Manage a complete and well-organized onboarding process for all new hires to Research Oncology; most will be coming from a very different environment, so in addition to knowledge onboarding, integration to the Flatiron culture is essential to success in these mission-critical roles
  • Ensure that all Research Oncologists are always well prepared for any conference/speaking engagements
  • Contribute to the organization, synthesis and cross-team communication of Research Oncologist-led projects
  • Build strong internal relationships across the organization
  • Support recruiting efforts for Research Oncology

About You

  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • Willingness to work on a wide range of projects and requests
  • Extremely detail-oriented, while maintaining big-picture vision
  • Skilled at gracefully managing up, down, and across
  • Previous work with cross-functional teams, and with co-workers from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Experience managing projects from concept to execution, with ability to incorporate learnings from previous projects to ensure continuous improvement
  • Excitement about working in a startup environment that requires constant adaptability and flexibility
  • Intellectually curious, with outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about our mission to improve healthcare through technology

Bonus points

  • Experience within a regulated environment (e.g. Food & Drug Administration [FDA], Health and Human Services [HHS], Medicare/Medicaid)
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical research and/or oncology
