About you: 

SmartAsset is looking for a numbers-driven Content Marketing Specialist to help oversee the strategy and execution of direct response, lead generation content marketing initiatives across the web. The goal is simple: create great digital content that inspires consumers to engage with financial products and services online. You are highly proficient optimizing Taboola, Outbrain and/or Gemini ad campaigns

The right candidate has a sharp, quantitative mind obsessed with achieving profitability and scale. You’re a student of behavioral psychology and operate a disciplined, quantitative testing regime. You spend your free time daydreaming of new marketing angles, on-page optimizations, ad copy and split tests. You’re an expert at Excel and data analysis. And you can enthusiastically teach these skills to others and help build a first-rate performance marketing team. 

You'll bring expertise in managing large digital budgets to hit profitability targets, preferably with a background in lead generation. A successful candidate should be a direct response marketing expert, highly analytical, and committed to making data-driven decisions. The performance of every marketing dollar we spend is tracked and measured and you should have a successful record of scaling businesses accordingly.

We are not looking for brand experts or blog writers. This person is first and foremost a performance marketer, who understands the types of content that will motivate consumers to act. You must possess a knack for developing great content, expertise in paid digital marketing platforms, and an analytical mind. You must enjoy working with data.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee strategy and execution of ROI-positive lead generation content marketing campaigns that inspire consumers to engage with financial products and services online
  • Develop content pieces and traffic them across multiple paid marketing platforms such as Facebook, Taboola and Outbrain
  • Maintain rigorous testing and content roadmap and report regularly on results
  • Identify new opportunities to scale our content marketing initiatives profitably

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5 years direct response digital marketing experience, driving profitable acquisition, exceeding ROI goals and contributing to revenue growth (lead generation strongly preferred)
  • Highly proficient optimizing Taboola, Outbrain and/or Gemini ad campaigns

  • Strong quantitative background
  • Proven record of driving ROI through digital content marketing
  • Technically adept with a pulse on trends and innovations within adtech
  • Ability to partner effectively with product management, ad operations and engineering
  • Ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities under tight deadlines
