Health care is hard. At Oscar, we’re here to make it easier. Our team includes people from a broad range of backgrounds who have joined Oscar to make a frustrating system more accessible, transparent, and human. Marketing is a powerful tool in achieving these goals, helping make complex information more intuitive and easier to understand.

As an Associate Product Marketing Manager: B2B GTM Strategy, you’ll report directly to the Senior Product Marketing Manager to launch our small business insurance product (Oscar for Business) in new markets. You’ll be part of the larger Growth Marketing team, whose goal is to grow Oscar’s membership across new and existing markets.

What is the position?

Let’s say we’re launching our B2B insurance product in the city of Pleasantville. You will assist in all stages of going to market, including:

Determining Oscar’s product/market fit and competitive position within Pleasantville.

  • Research market dynamics. You’ll gather key intel on the insurance market in Pleasantville, such as: addressable market size, the popularity of different insurance plan types, state regulations that impact how insurance is sold, etc.

  • Survey the competitive landscape and Oscar’s position within it. You’ll size up our competition in Pleasantville, and dig into: who our major competitors are, how our products stack up against theirs, and where we have competitive advantages.

Working with cross-functional teams to plan and execute an integrated marketing strategy.

  • Build a “Master Market Brief” to educate internal teams on Pleasantville. You’ll help assemble market research into an all-in-one analysis of Pleasantville—which will lay out sales and marketing goals/KPIs, market dynamics and competitive landscape, where and with whom we think Oscar will win, etc.

  • Plan an integrated marketing campaign. You will work with other functional teams (such as Media, Events, and Sales) to design a cross-channel marketing plan (including digital, OOH, email) that hits our sales goals within budget.

  • Coordinate the execution of that marketing campaign. You will be the main point of contact to ensure campaigns are executed properly and on time (e.g., coordinate with our Creative team to build assets for ad units, with our Copywriting team to create custom advertorial content, with our Events team to drive RSVPs, etc.).

Equipping our Sales team with effective tools to sell Oscar in Pleasantville.

  • Develop and update sales collateral including one-pagers and sales pitch decks that showcase our specific value propositions within Pleasantville.

  • Manage email communications to local Pleasantville brokers on behalf of Sales team.

  • Own marketing-related elements of partnerships with other companies who help sell Oscar for Business (e.g., web brokers, private exchanges, distribution partners). You’ll manage approvals for press releases, draft copy for partners’ marketing collateral, and more.

  • Help manage Oscar’s website content specific to Pleasantville, ensuring all materials are up-to-date.

Who are you?

Must-have skills:

  • A knack for operations and building process, with strong project management skills. We manage complex projects with many stakeholders. You have a demonstrated ability to keep track of many moving pieces, without letting the ball drop. You frequently communicate a project’s status and action items to stakeholders, and keep everyone accountable.

  • Strong copywriting skills. You are a concise and effective writer. Your peers often ask you to proofread their writing for grammar and punctuation.

  • Ability to speak to your audience. You can put yourself in other people’s shoes—whether it be our internal sales team, a broker, or a target customer segment—and tailor your message to address what they care about, in a language they understand..

  • Scrappy, resourceful, and a quick study. Things move fast at Oscar. You’re confident in your ability to pick up complex concepts quickly, to learn on the job, and to figure things out even when there aren’t explicit instructions.

  • Flexible team player. You feel comfortable taking ownership of tasks, but are also an effective collaborator. You’re quick to pitch in when something needs to get done—even if it’s not listed in your job description,

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience planning, executing, and measuring performance-driven marketing campaigns.

  • Experience writing copy and developing marketing/sales collateral for complex products.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate unstructured data sets into clear, concise analyses.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Marketo, or similar CRM and ESP systems is a plus.
