We are looking for a Brand Communications Director to lead the development of breakthrough brand campaigns and multi channel communications strategies that will drive awareness, conversion, and brand love. Part creative strategist, part communication planner, the ideal candidate is an out of box thinker and master storyteller who loves to uncover human stories and cultural insights to create powerful and compelling campaign platforms

As a key member of the broader Brand Marketing team, the Brand Communication director will work closely with the Brand Management and Creative teams to write inspirational creative briefs and communication plans that guide the work into the world. 

This individual reports to the VP Brand Marketing. The position will be 100% remote through January 2022, and a flexible return to work/work from pre-approved locations program is currently being developed.

What You'll Do: 

  • Create long term communication strategies that will meaningfully grow brand awareness and consideration for Away globally

  • Lead development of brand campaign platforms  that will continue to position Away as a global travel brand

  • Craft insightful creative briefs that lead to magnetic and polarizing creative work

  • Help define our brand voice and pov as we express our brand belief and purpose into communications and messaging

  • Drive creative strategy and creative briefing for quarterly plans ;  partner with creative teams on concept development, storytelling and development of quarterly communication plans

  • Create communication frameworks that optimize delivery of all of Away’s content and communications from product launches to editorial storytelling across channels with a focus on digital first

  • Explore and innovate with new storytelling ideas, levering Away’s spirit of disruption to deliver excitement, buzz and cultural energy

Who you are:

  • You have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in planning/strategy role at agency and/or in brand communications at a lifestyle brand

  • You have exceptional storytelling and communication skills that bring passion, energy and inspiration to the forefront.

  • You are a master at integrating digital communications and driving innovation in the digital space

  • You enjoy connecting the dots and partnering cross functionally. You master brand strategy, creative development and multi-channel execution and have executed these at scale to drive business results and brand equity.

  • You have experience leading briefings and management of creative partners (in-house or agency).

  • You are customer-obsessed—you understand our customer and how to speak to them at every point of the marketing funnel.

  • You are culturally-aware and naturally curious—you know what other brands are doing and always thinking “how can we do this better?”

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • You are incredibly organized and able to juggle a variety of initiatives.

  • You love to travel (but that's a given).
