Communications Manager for North America

WiredScore is looking for an accomplished North America Public Relations professional to join our growing team.

• You will be results-driven and motivated by achieving established PR goals and having a measurable impact on our company.
• You may come from an agency or a brand. Commercial Real Estate experience is preferred, but more important than this is a desire to learn about WiredScore and the CRE industry and of proven success working in a PR communications role.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

This is first and foremost a PR role. However, this person will be an important content creator, assisting with the writing of blog articles, developing relationships with bloggers and other industry influencers.

• Enhance and maintain relationships with key media contacts to help promote WiredScore key messages, activities, and accomplishments.
• Have a consistent focus on generating ideas for newsworthy stories. Including, but not limited to, working closely with subject matter experts at WiredScore.
• Complement marketing efforts to cement WiredScore as the household name in in- building technology
• Help coach and prepare spokespeople to represent WiredScore in a positive manner.
• Generate media coverage in national and local media outlets (initial focus will be on Boston, NYC, Texas, Chicago, DC and Toronto).
• Write SEO-optimized press releases.
• Secure deskside interviews for WiredScore thought leaders.
• Work with Head of Marketing to keep track of results.
• Generate speaking and comment opportunities for WiredScore thought leadership team.
• Assist with event planning and production.
• Provide project and results updates for internal teams.
• Create original, quality content to address negative media coverage.
• Prepare a damage control plan in case of negative media coverage.
• Time permitting, contribute to content production (written, video and more).

CORE QUALITIES / SKILLS

• 5+ years of experience in a public relations role, with a strong focus on paid marketing channels.
• Positive, proactive and friendly. We are looking to hire high-character people first and foremost.
• Team-first attitude, able to work effectively with colleagues in order to elevate your own performance and that of others.
• Has a can-do attitude, believes that results are largely a product of planning, activity and good execution.
• Believes a lack of existing media/journalist relations is not a barrier, just a challenge to overcome.
• Has some basic SEO knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A desire to continually learn and better oneself.
• Extremely detail -and results-oriented.
