Role:
Teachers Pay Teachers is looking for a smart, savvy content writer to join our Brand & Content team (a part of our Marketing & Communications Team). You are a highly productive, creative wordsmith and talented content creator who has the ability to elevate our brand and drive results. You are an energetic ideas person, constantly generating. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you play a leading role in shaping critical touch points with educators. You’ll be a creative partner to many teams across the organization -- including product, design, sales, communications, and community teams -- who are all working to make the expertise and wisdom of all the teachers in the world available to anyone, anywhere, at any time.
Responsibilities:
- Write on a wide variety of topics for multiple platforms and audiences (email, website, blog, social media, banners, case studies, white papers, brochures, one-sheeters, etc.) while maintaining strong brand voice
- Collaborate with editorial and cross-functional teammates to brainstorm and execute on brand campaign ideas and content strategies that deepen engagement with our loyal customer base
- Partner with product and marketing teams to write customer-focused copy in service of new product launches and growth strategies, including UX copy, email communications, and web copy, that excites, inspires, and compels adoption
- Research industry styles, standards, and approaches to content that is innovative, original, or data-driven to educate and energize our talented group of writers and marketers
- Study user research and performance data and hone your copy accordingly
Qualities of a Successful Candidate:
- Strong command of various writing styles across mediums including both digital and print
- Ability to translate ideas into jargon-free, thoughtful, and concise copy
- Ability to receive and integrate feedback from various stakeholders seamlessly into creative outputs
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once with speed, delivering high quality output
- Experience writing email copy for multiple types of audiences
- General understanding of the marketing funnel and content strategies for each stage
- Bias for using research and data, when appropriate, to support a powerful narrative arc
- Ability to interpret performance of content using data, and use that data to inform future content strategies
- High level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills
- Impeccable spelling and grammar and ability to adapt to voice & tone
- 3+ years of professional writing and/or content marketing experience (with relevant samples to share)
- Believes in our mission to empower educators
Extra Points:
- BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or Creative Writing
- Experience with SEO copywriting
- Experience with content management systems (e.g. Wordpress)
- Experience in education or at a technology company
- Mix of B2B and B2C experience
