We are a collection of young, talented, and ruthlessly passionate professionals focused on making a dent in the healthcare space. We are looking for a creative Director of People Operations. The Director of People Operations is responsible for driving people's strategy, paying particular attention to creating and supporting a culture of being a great place to work. This individual will set strategic human resources direction and provide insight and perspective into our growth and expansion while also directing and coordinating our ‘back office’ administrative function and activities. The ideal individual is a well-seasoned People Operations specialist with the confidence and ability to integrate best practices and coach and mentor individuals from executive to front-line. The role requires a true leader who can also roll up their sleeves and make sh** happen. This Director will lead and guide the DearDoc HR, IT, Office Services and Facilities as well as serve as a participating member of the site’s senior leadership team. This position is located in New York City, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the business organizational needs and future direction in order to successfully help all parties and groups meet their individual and collective business goals
- Drive the people strategy in alignment with DearDoc’s practices, values and strategies
- Partner with managers to identify the talent gaps and development needs of the business unit, its managers, key individuals, and people in key positions. Help managers identify and support learning activities and initiatives to grow leadership at all levels
- Perform as confident resource to managers on employee relations issues and partner with them to ensure that they are leading and managing the DearDoc way
- Ensure HR practices and programs are rolled out at the local level, including performance management, merit planning, open enrollment and the like
- Actively participate as a key executive in matters that span functional areas that require tight alignment and consistency for equity and fairness as well as for simplicity and efficiency
- Provide data analysis, metrics, and tools that demonstrate progress toward achieving key milestones and to help drive strategy
- Provide expert guidance and direction to management team and employees on sensitive human resource related matters
- Make certain that all administrative systems and processes are highly scalable, reliable, finely tuned and well delivered with an aim toward pro-action rather than reaction
- Communicate and ensure compliance and consistency with Company practices and policies
- Effectively interface with all levels of the organization to coordinate and oversee all of the people-related activities in the DearDoc office and remote
- Work proactively with headquarters’ IT and Facilities teams to ensure the right level of infrastructure support is provided at the right time
Requirements
- At least 3 years professional business experience with at least 2 years in HR generalist / management roles
- Strong experience with all of the basic HR functions, including recruiting, compensation and legal compliance
- Some experience with remote office operations and administrative services role preferred
- Experience with simultaneously managing a multi-discipline groups with conflicting / competing priorities
- Skillful at leading and influencing organizational effectiveness and efficiency
- Change agent, action-oriented leader, strong project and/or program management skills
- Culture-focused with a strong people orientation
- Significant experience with organizational design and alignment programs
- Proven experience in building, leading and supporting people development programs
- Track record in developing systems and work streams that result in and procedural efficiencies
- Low need for burdensome process; proven abilities to fend off bureaucracy and keep things simple
- Cross functional and collaborative communicator with the ability to influence and drive operational efficiencies and a spirit of teamwork, collaboration and cooperation
- Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to make impactful presentations and facilitate meetings as needed.
