Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, the Content Marketing Manager will:

- Manage and contribute to the development of creative content for marketing, product, and advertising programs

- Ensure that the overall content execution across all channels is as effective as possible

- Have a deep understanding of Abacus’ buyers at every stage in the lead funnel

- Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling content that engages and converts audiences throughout the funnel, from marketplace awareness to brand relationship to customer

- Write copy as assigned for Abacus’ websites, webinars and presentation decks, printed collateral, eBooks, thought leadership article placements, event collateral, blogs, press releases, and more

 

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify content program strategies that advance business goals for entire buyer’s journey
  • Write copy for much of Abacus’ content, including (but not limited to) blog, website and landing pages, digital publications, sellsheets, advertising, social, emails, webinars, ebooks, newsletters, and presentationsDevelop and manage content calendar
  • Manage website content updates including working with web developer to post updated press releases, blog posts, news, event updates, media mentions, etc.
  • Communicate new content materials to outside departments including sales, product team, account management team on Slack, Twine, and other applications as noted
  • Manage public facing content to ensure material is up to date with latest brand standards, archiving dated content
  • Manage internal document library to ensure the latest sales collateral and brand assets are posted and up to date
  • Collaborate with the Creative Services team while acting as project manager on select initiatives to ensure deliverable timelines are met
  • Manage the distribution plan for marketing and PR materials (as appropriate) and ensure timelines and processes are adhered to
  • Manage per-project messaging and ongoing content strategies
  • Write all inbound and outbound marketing content as well as sales team documents alongside the Visual Designers, Web Developers, Marketing Managers, Directors, VPs, and contract vendors, as needed
  • Act as in-house photographer for select projects and events

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, PR, or related field
  • 3-5 years of content marketing experience preferably in B2B
  • Proven project management abilities and the ability to work within set processes
  • Ability to adhere to project deadlines
  • Proven ability to tell B2B stories, and to address advanced software and accounting topics in a confident, accessible voice
  • Experience writing content for a variety of audience personas
  • Understanding of how content marketing, PR, email marketing and social media interact to achieve business goals
  • Understanding of marketing automation and audience nurturing principles
  • Familiarity with web analytics and social media management tools
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and ability to write SEO content
  • Basic technical understanding of HTML a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Individual contributor with ability to work both autonomously and as part of the team in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously and successfully
  • Experience with MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Adobe Creative Cloud, Marketo, Salesforce and other similar programs preferred but not required
  • Experience with photography and videography preferred but not required
