Overview

The Content Marketing Writer/Research is responsible for the strategy and execution of Synthesio’s content marketing, media relations & customer reference program. This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, who is also based at our headquarters in New York.

Responsibilities

Conduct research and write high-value content about global topics (60%)

  • Identify global topics that are in high demand (elections, Brexit, Yellow vests movement, etc.)
  • Run social listening and audience analysis projects using Synthesio products
  • Write/edit long-form and high-value content assets that show thought leadership and drive awareness

Develop relationships with key journalists to drive earned media coverage (20%)

  • Identify new journalists that cover our space and/or can benefit from Synthesio data & insights
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key journalists and industry publications

Customer references (20%)

  • Identify/develop customer success stories for Synthesio usage across industries, regions and use cases (2-3 per month)
  • Work closely with Synthesio account managers & customer success managers to find customer references, and get approval for case studies
  • Write and edit customer success stories; and pitch to journalists
  • Encourage customers to provide feedback on user review sites, including G2 Crowd

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Journalism, Marketing, Market Research or a relevant field
  • 3+ years experience in journalism and/or B2B SaaS/MarTech
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to identify and write compelling stories that readers care about
  • Experience writing web content and getting earned media coverage
  • Ability to apply search engine optimization principles during content planning and writing process
  • Easily able to shift gears between critical thinking, and getting things done
  • Able to handle multiple projects, deadlines and priorities
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a global cross-functional team
  • Ability to easily work with remote teams
  • Enjoys and thrives in a startup culture, yet can navigate a larger corporation
  • Occasional travel to other Synthesio offices and/or events (quarterly)
