As Copywriter, you’ll be part of the Brand Marketing team, our burgeoning internal creative team whose goal is to bring the Oscar brand to life through integrated campaigns, design, experiential, and creative content. You’ll join the broader Marketing team in our efforts to grow Oscar across a wide range of audiences from consumers and business owners to providers and industry professionals, engage and retain our members, and develop positive brand awareness and word-of-mouth referrals.

What is the position?

The Copywriter will collaborate closely with Designers, Producers, and the Product Marketing Managers. Together you’ll find creative and engaging ways to communicate the Oscar experience through multiple channels to each of our key audiences, including members, brokers, providers, and consumers, both externally and internally across all brand touch points. You’ll focus on the following key areas: 

  • Cultivate Oscar’s brand voice, tone, and copy across business lines. You’ll balance the audience, context, and channel with the core Oscar brand and make sure that we always sound just right.

  • Partner with Designers to communicate complex topics in engaging and easy-to-understand ways.

  • Translate brand value propositions and communications priorities into multi-channel campaigns, from ad copy and sales enablement to thought leadership and white papers.

  • Author written content for public-facing channels, including print and digital. You’ll write blog posts and refine copy for collateral, both independently and as part of a creative team.

In the first 90 days you will:

  • Immerse yourself in the world of Oscar and all its audiences, and understand how to communicate the Oscar experience across channels and contexts.

  • Develop creative and content ideas for Oscar’s social channels, and own copywriting needs for social campaigns.

  • Collaborate with your colleagues on the brand and marketing team on all of our copy needs, from one-pagers and mailers to ongoing communications and overarching campaigns.

Who are you?

You..

  • Have 2+ years experience in writing copy for a brand, including B2C and B2B.

  • Have conceptualized and authored content that spans both creative and technical, and speaks both to consumers and industry professionals. You’re equally comfortable writing captions for instagram and industry white papers. You have basic familiarity with SEO.

  • Work quickly and efficiently. You’re able to turn around briefs on tight timelines, often juggling competing priorities. You internalize feedback from creatives and business leads alike and iterate accordingly.

  • Are more than a storyteller; you are constantly seeking and uncovering new perspectives, products, and experiences to share with the world.

  • Are a strong conceptual thinker who can take a complex idea and make it relatable. You do this both independently and part of a creative working group.

  • Are optimistic, empathic, and enjoy working as a team to reach shared goals.

  • Appreciate the need to innovate and keep Oscar’s voice fresh while maintaining the day-to-day.

  • Are committed to Oscar’s mission and goals, and are excited to tackle every project, however big or small.
