Would you like to build upon your career in communications? Outbrain is looking for an experienced Corporate Communications Manager to help manage and execute both external and internal messaging on a global scale. This exciting and rewarding position will be pivotal to the success of Outbrain’s communications initiatives, so we’re looking for someone who has deep experience in crafting effective press releases, thought leadership pieces, can foster strong relationships with the press, industry experts and key influencers. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, this high-visibility position will also help in creating effective messaging to an internal audience and ensure messaging is not only consistent but aligned throughout the organization.
The Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Help manage and execute a global PR strategy tied to thought leadership pieces, product releases, as well as other key corporate communication initiatives such as internal communications by working closely with senior leadership to establish organizational messages and keep employees informed of developments on a global scale.
- Writing and editing communications materials including talking points, press releases, blogs, social media posts, and other external communication messaging as needed.
- Build and manage an internal communications program to support firm-wide comprehension of the brand mission, vision, and purpose.
- Assist the Director of Corporate Communications in driving thought leadership initiatives that span across editorial content, press mentions, speaking events, and award submissions.
- Own and foster strong relationships with media and press, key influencers and industry leaders and engage on a steady basis to further enhance the brand through various external communication initiatives and events.
- Closely collaborate with internal departments to ensure various stakeholders within the global organization are aligned.
- Manage media monitoring service to track media coverage and develop monthly reports for senior and executive leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years experience in corporate, external/internal communications with a strong focus on B2B tech industry. Ability to write effective press releases, pitches and PR plans. Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums.
- Strong relationships with tech trade publications and top-tier business publications and media.
- Solid track record of securing placements with tech trade and business publications.
- Exceptional writing, and project management skills. Experience working directly with senior executives and thought leaders and ability to communicate complex topics effectively.
- Ability to develop strong cross-functional partners across many levels in the organization.
- Experience in driving and managing a holistic PR plan.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and a general understanding of the Adtech industry.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills – must be a solid writer.
- Experience in media relations and fostering strong relationships with press and media contacts. Agency experience a major plus. Strong judgment and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to media opportunities.
- An entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in a collaborative environment but can also work independently and autonomously. Willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
- Possess a strong drive to take initiative and be resourceful. Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Working knowledge of Cision and other PR tools.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferably in Communications)
