HOMER is looking for a Senior Manager of Content Marketing to sit in our New York office and join our growing team! HOMER’s mission is to challenge a one-size-fits-all approach to learning and put individuality at its center. Your role will be critical to enhancing HOMER’s position in the children’s education space by driving brand awareness, influence and acquisition through best-in-class content marketing.

In this newly created role at HOMER, you will own the strategy and execution behind HOMER’s content marketing initiatives to build brand awareness and generate brand engagement and for an exciting and new area in children’s learning.

The ideal candidate has a track record in launching a thoughtful content marketing strategy by producing high quality, on-brand, remarkable content across various mediums.

You will:

Create and spearhead HOMER’s content strategy

  • Develop the first-ever content marketing strategy for HOMER with the objective of positioning the brand as a thought-leader, trusted advisor, and #1 brand in the early childhood learning space.
  • Manage the entire content creation process including ideation, project management, execution, distribution strategy, and measurement.
  • Determine channel strategy for new HOMER content marketing initiatives --  i.e. podcasts, live-streams, physical events, content apps, etc.
  • Support Marketing and Product teams on strategy and development of strong content pillars and written content across various mediums -- app stores, website, social media, marketing ads, email marketing, blog, etc.

Oversee content development

  • Develop standards, systems, workflows, and best practices for content creation, distribution, and maintenance working with appropriate creative resources including designers, writers, etc.
  • Drive the brand voice, tone, and personality behind the HOMER brand and across all products, working closely with the Creative team on guardrails and Marketing team on execution.

Maximize and measure efficacy

  • Drive content marketing initiatives and partner with the Performance Marketing team to generate traffic, engagement, and leads and support member retention and engagement efforts
  • Ensure content is developed with SEO-friendly mindset Ensure all content is on-brand and optimized for search engine optimization
  • Be responsible for the measurement and optimization of any new content marketing programs

You have:

  • 5+ years experience managing a content strategy and execution that achieved strong organic reach and customer engagement, preferably for a consumer brand in the kids space.
  • Proven writing & editorial skills through a background / education in journalism and writing, including an ability to craft compelling messaging for different audiences.
  • Experience managing a team of in-house and freelance content creators.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution, and measurement.
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with an ability to manage priorities from a multitude of stakeholders in a multi-functional environment.
  • Fluency in web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), social media marketing applications, and leading social media monitoring platforms (e.g. Hootsuite, Iconosquare, Hubspot).
  • Familiarity with paid content amplification tools such as Outbrain & Taboola.

We prefer, but don’t require:

  • Experience working on content strategy and execution for a kids product, marketing to parents.
  • Experience working on content strategy and execution for a consumer subscription product.
