We are looking for a tenacious self-starter who has strong communication skills and is passionate about delivering the best answers to people’s questions. This role has two key focuses: onpage SEO optimization and article promotion, specifically through link building. The majority of our readers find us by searching in Google. This role is based in NYC.

Fit Small Business seeks a full-time SEO Associate to join our team. This role offers you the chance to develop in a dynamic, professional, startup environment. Your work will likely evolve quickly to match the pace of our scaling, and that’s part of what would attract you to Fit Small Business.

  • You are high energy and passionate about SEO, or willing and ready to learn with gusto.
  • You are quick, sharp and driven to get results.
  • You are comfortable working in a startup environment, where things change quickly.
  • You have a powerful work ethic.
  • You have strong written communication skills.
  • You have at least 6 months of marketing, PR, or other relevant experience. Experience with email outreach preferred.
  • You're web-savvy, preferably with knowledge of Wordpress and HTML.
  • You’re familiar with online publishing and content marketing.
  • You’re passionate about helping small businesses.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Link Building. Promote our articles, guides, and content through concerted email outreach to get authoritative websites and publications to link to our site.
  • SEO Strategies. Determine what methods will work best to promote an article or project, and ensure we get useful information from our research team.
  • On Page SEO Optimization. Make sure our articles are well-optimized for both search engines and web readers.
  • Keyword Research. Find keywords, assess traffic potential and searcher intent, and offer our editorial team insightful recommendations so that the finished article perfectly matches what readers are looking for.
  • Outreach Projects. Try out new outreach methods and experiment with existing methods to improve our results and find new link building strategies we can potentially scale.
  • Relationship Building. Familiarize yourself with one or more online niches, identify key influencers and start conversations with them. Maintain these relationships to produce positive results for both parties.
  • Marketing Analytics. Collect and analyze performance metrics for all digital marketing campaigns. Analyze information on customers, competitors, market trends to provide SEO insights.

G Suite, Slack, Trello, Reply.io, Insightly, Wordpress, Moz, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, SEM Rush, SERanking, Screaming Frog, Hot Jar, Buzzsumo, Hunter.io, Mailtrack.
