Overview

The Digital Media Campaign Specialist | Graphic Design thrives in a fast-paced environment by managing digital media campaigns, being responsible for the development of marketing and creative assets, and overall creative content in several categories such as social, display, web and email. The campaign specialist should be able to think critically, contribute to campaign ideation, and design campaign assets rooted in individual client brand standards under the direction of our digital services director and senior operations manager. They should be a self-starter, un-afraid to ask questions, ready to learn and grow, and be collaborative in nature. This is an extremely fast-paced but exciting agency environment supporting Digital Media Services clients across all Tribune Publishing markets – Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, Orlando Sentinel, South Florida Sun Sentinel, Hartford Courant, Virginia Media Group and Allentown Morning Call. Any applicants will need to be adept at managing their time and workload, juggling multiple projects at any given time while also contributing in a team environment.

This role is based in our New York City office in the Financial District at the New York Daily News.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, execute and produce design assets for diverse media (digital, video, gifs, conversion pages/landing pages, web) for multiple advertising channels including paid social and digital display ads.
• Design and produce conversion and landing pages utilizing platforms such as Click Funnels and Duda.
• Assist in the creation of presentation materials, sales one-sheets and documents, including PowerPoint decks and visual mock-ups.
• Assist the DMS team in miscellaneous production tasks (sourcing imagery and footage, retouching, image resizing, presentation design and logo creation).
• Setup Social Media Ad Accounts, participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

• 1-3 years of experience as part of a creative team, preferably in an agency environment
• A relevant visual design degree (graphic design, interactive design), marketing degree or equivalent work experience
• Solid understanding of social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn and Twitter
• Experience building and optimizing social media campaigns on Facebook/Instagram a major plus
• A portfolio of client work demonstrating a range of approaches and styles (Interactive design, print design, gifs, banners, print ads and collateral) a plus
• A great sense of current pop and social culture
• The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication (writing, listening, explaining your ideas), organization & project management skills
• An eye for detail and the ability to follow direction and execute on feedback
• Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office with strong PowerPoint skills.
• Working knowledge of motion design and editing (Premiere, After Effects, etc..) and animation capabilities a plus
• A self-starter with strong ability to stay ahead of what is needed for current and upcoming projects
